Hangman’s Hill

Several years ago, I proposed placing a historical marker on Skyline Drive. In the 1930’s, this hill’s informal name changed from Hangman’s Hill to Dinosaur Hill after the big dinosaurs were installed as part of a WPA project during the Great Depression.

Through the efforts of a lot of people, this marker has now been installed. The marker is located in the parking lot of the visitor’s center at the base of the Dinosaurs.
